JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -

A 16-year-old has been arrested and charged with the shooting death of a man downtown last month.

On Nov. 21, 20-year-old Jeremy Godboldt Jr. was fatally shot on West Union Street. He was driven to Shands-Jacksonville Medical Center, where he died.

Homicide detectives learned that prior to the shooting, Godboldt and his two brothers were involved in a fistfight with Quintavius Seay and Seay's friend and witnesses driving by saw shots fired at Godboldt and everyone else running away.

Investigators first found Seay's friend, then picked up Seay at Andrew Jackson High School on Tuesday for questioning. Detectives said that after first denying that he fired the shots, Seay admitted that he did fire at Godboldt as he and his brothers were running away, but he did not intend for him to die.

Seay was arrested on a charge of murder and booked into the juvenile detention center.
