Teen Killed In Southside Crash
Five Others Injured In Accident, 1 Critically
Published On: Oct 31 2011 05:47:08 PM EDT Updated On: Nov 30 2009 12:17:39 PM ESTAn 18-year-old woman was killed and five other people were injured in a wreck Sunday night near the Avenues Mall.
The Florida Highway Patrol said a private ambulance turned left into the path of a northbound pickup truck about 8:30 p.m. on Philips Highway just south of the intersection with Interstate 95.
Megan Bunn, of St. Augustine, was a passenger in the Chevrolet Silverado and died at the scene. The driver of the pickup, Michael Linder, was transported to Shands-Jacksonville Medical Center in critical condition. Two other people in the back seat of the pickup were also hurt, but their injuries were not life-threatening.
Troopers said no one in the pickup was wearing a seat belt.

Brian Gray, 25 -- driver of the Liberty Ambulance -- and passenger Julie Raymer, 44, were also hospitalized with serious injuries.
Troopers would like to talk with anyone who witnessed the wreck as they continue the investigation. According to the FHP report, charges are pending.
Philips Highway was closed in both directions most of the rest of the night.
