A 19-year-old man was sentenced to a mandatory 45 years in prison Thursday for a shooting inside Regency Square Mall.

Joshua Davis pleaded guilty last month to two counts of attempted second-degree murder and one count of carrying a concealed firearm.

Davis and two friends were in a Finish Line store in the mall in February when Davis pulled out a handgun and fired at a man inside the store.

The bullet hit an innocent bystander, Manisa Sapkota, in the shoulder area. Sapkota was working at a kiosk just outside of the store.

The 34-year-old has since recovered from her injuries.
