To buy or not to buy?
What products that go on sale in December and what products don't?
Each month Nikki Kimbleton tells you all about the products you can find for a lot less money.
For example, according to Consumer Reports, November was the best time to buy things like bikes, gas grills and camcorders.
This month the list is very similar so Nikki shares with us the list of things Consumer Reports says you should wait to buy if you want a bargain.
First, if you're buying a calendar for your home or office or even as a gift, consumer experts say wait until after the first of the year. You won't miss much time, and you'll find them on clearance.
And sure, you're going to see sale tags on tons of televisions this month, but when it comes to high-end, brand-name TV’s, you'll nearly always have to pay top dollar to get top-of-the-line electronics in December.
And when it comes to jewelry, yes this is a sensitive one. Some don't mind spending the extra money, and for good reason. You want to show the one you love, just how much. But if you're buying for yourself or if you think the person you're buying for won't mind waiting, Consumer Reports says hold off on jewelry until after Valentine's day. You'll get a much better deal.
When it comes to the kids.. If you're looking for a game console... Don't settle for just the console. Look for systems that attach accessories. The competition is tough and you shouldn't have to look hard to find a good package deal.
Now, while sweaters, gloves and scarves are easy to give as gifts, if you can skip buying winter clothes, you'll save money. It's better to stock up early next year, in late January or February when retailers are getting rid of their inventory.
Now that you know whatnotto buy in December if you're looking for the biggest bargains, here's the Consumer Reports list of the things you can buy this month and save money. You'll save money on bikes, camcorders, gas grills, GPS navigation systems, all home appliances, small consumer electronics and of course toys.
