LAKE CITY, Fla. -

Antorria Jackson's ceiling collapsed under the weight of an old oak tree that fell on top of her home as a fast moving system of rain and wind pushed through downtown Lake City.

"I slept right where the tree fell at this morning. That's where I slept last night," she said.

Inside, Jackson said, practically everything she owned will have to be replaced.

"It damaged the entire roof, the walls," Jackson said. "I had about $5,000 worth of remodeling done recently, too. The furniture, carpet, sheet rock -- all that was $5,000."

Jackson said her three kids had left the house for school not more than 15 minutes before the wind and rain knocked the tree down.

A local tree cutting company was taking it apart piece by piece, trying not to cause any more damage.

Jackson said she estimates the wind speed Tuesday morning was nearly 60 mph. She said she's thankful no one was home when the unexpected happened.

"I can't question God's work," Jackson said. "I just say thank God my children are alive. It's materialistic. I wish it wouldn't have happened, but everything happens for a reason. All I can do is pray and move forward."
