JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -

A popular beauty salon held its annual Hair Cut-A-Thon for breast cancer on Sunday.

All day, stylists at ULTA Beauty in the Town Center, and other locations, clipped hair and gave 100 percent of the proceeds to breast cancer research. ULTA Beauty salons across the country performed more than 19,000 hair cuts to benefit this same event in 2011.

Pooja Mohapatra showed up early Sunday with her mom. She had a feeling it would be busy.

"I have a lot of friends whose parents are impacted by this, so it feels great to come in and support this," said Mohapatra.

For a small donation, Pooja and dozens of others received facials and haircuts to benefit the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

"100 percent of the proceeds from the cut-a-thon go to research breast cancer," said Jessica Carroll, ULTA Beauty.

Carroll said this is the second year ULTA hosted the fundraiser.

We're accepting any type of donation. It is a minimum $10 donation. So, it's for a cut, a style and a blow out," Carroll said. "There is men, women, children. Anybody can come."

ULTA is encouraging everybody to "SHOP PINK" this October. Some were given to chance to streak their hair pink.
