(CNN) -- Syria's president sent his condolences to Venezuela's vice president over the death of President Hugo Chavez. Bashar al-Assad said Chavez "embodied a legendary struggle in the face of USA attempts and those who support it to dominate ,,, peoples and states," Syria's state news agency said Wednesday.
