Police have identified the man killed Wednesday evening outside a home in Northwest Jacksonville, but are not releasing any other information about the incident where an exchange of gunfire was reported.

Police say Verlon Jackson, 34, lived a few blocks from where he was killed on West 6th Street about 6 p.m.  Jackson was taken to Shands Jacksonville Medical Center, where he died.
