Wilford Discusses West Coast Struggles

Another disappointing loss on the west coast left tight end Ernest Wilford and the Jaguars wondering what happens seemingly every time they make the trip across the country.

Wilford talked about his team's struggles with Sam Kouvaris on the End Zone Monday night.

The Jaguars (6-5) failed to muster up more than a field goal in the team's 20-3 loss at San Francisco on Sunday. In the team's other west coast trip earlier this season, the Jaguars were demolished by Seattle 41-0.

"It was just a tough game. Unfortunately things didn't go our way," Wilford said. "We just have to stay focused and stay hungry."

Despite their most recent loss, the Jaguars remain in the hunt for an AFC Wild Card spot.

The offense seemed to be able to move the ball at times with relative ease, but several drives ended with turnovers or missed opportunities.

"We tried to stick to the game plan, but we went into a hurry-up mode," Wilford said after the team dug itself a hole. "We knew going into the game that it was going to be a chinstrap game."

The Jaguars host division rival Houston (5-6) on Sunday, having already beat the Texans 31-24 in the team's first meeting in September.

"We can't focus on the past. Our next opponent is Houston," Wilford said. "We want to beat them just as bad as they want to beat us."
