ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. -

A 28-year-old St. Johns County woman was arrested on charges of DUI and possession of less than 20 grams of marijuana Sunday evening following a hit-and-run crash, according to the St. Johns County Sheriff's Office.

Erica Robbins was traveling southbound on Interstate 95, near mile marker 319, at 10:15 p.m. and struck a Sheriff's Office Public Service Assistant vehicle that was assisting in traffic control of another crash that the Florida Highway Patrol was working in the area.

After striking the marked vehicle, Robbins continued southbound and was stopped by deputies a half-mile south of the hit-and-run, investigators said.

Deputy Matthew Bellamy detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from Robbins' breath, and she refused a field sobriety test, investigators said.

Robbins was then arrested on DUI charges and booked into the St. Johns County jail.

Corrections officers discovered a small bag of suspected cannabis inside Robbins' purse during the booking process and the possession charge was added, investigators said.
