JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -

A woman and her daughter were found safe in another county after the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office was treating their disappearance as a possible kidnapping.

Nixon and her daughter were found safe in another county Friday morning.

JSO said they willingly left and that the case was no longer being treated as a kidnapping.

Police said 38-year-old Bathsheba Nixon and her 12-year-old daughter hadn't been seen since Sunday night. Nixon's sister, who lives in Arlington, told police that she received a phone call from a restricted number.

When she answered, Nixon was on the other line, saying that she and her daughter were kidnapped.

"She said she was kidnapped and at that point, hung up the phone," said Sergeant Shawn Coasey, JSO Homicide Unit.

Police said Nixon does have a history of mental illness, but they were still investigating the situation as a kidnapping Thursday night into Friday morning.
