A retrial in Flagler County ended in a guilty verdict for a woman charged with killing a retired school teacher in Putnam County.
Jurors found Gytonia Cheek guilty of the murder of 58-year-old Myrtle McKinney.
Last month, a judge declared a mistrial in the case when the jury was unable to reach a unanimous verdict.
McKinney was found beaten to death inside her Palatka apartment on Christmas Day in 2007. Investigators said the motive appeared to be robbery.
A co-defendant of Cheek's, Quritus Lowe, was convicted in December in a separate trial. The 24-year-old is serving life in prison.
Cheek's trial was moved from Palatka to Bunnell at the request of her attorney because the crime had drawn too much attention in Putnam County to ensure fair proceedings.
