Robberies in Baymeadows, on Northside could be related

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -

Two Jacksonville neighborhoods are the targets of robberies on Tuesday night, and it's possible the same men are responsible for both.

The first happened on Baymeadows Road, when a woman was robbed at an apartment complex.

"I told them don't do anything to me. I'll do whatever you want. I have $350 cash," the victim said. "He's like give me your wallet, give me your purse and he's like give me your car, give me your car."

She said she's relieved the armed crooks didn't hurt her or end up getting her car.

"They already have the tag number and everything, but they're thinking it's a stolen tag or something. The car was silver," said the victim.

The victim told police that the two robbers took off in a silver sedan.

About 90 minutes later on Jacksonville's Northside, there were reports of a similar burglary Lem Turner Road.

Police said two men in a small silver sedan robbed another woman at gunpoint, and this time, they got away with her car.

Channel 4 crime analyst Ken Jefferson said it's very possible the same crooks could have tried to pull the same crime off in a short amount of time.

"They can hit multiple people at once. Collectively in short amount of time so they can lay low or it's hot on the street. They know more people are a little more cognizant of their surroundings and aware of what's going on," said Jefferson.

If you have any information that could help police solve these robberies, call Crime Stoppers at 866-845-TIPS.
