Yellowstone National Park is delaying its spring opening because of the federal budget cuts that went into effect Friday.
Pushing back the park's opening and reducing operating hours could cost Yellowstone up to $1.7 million.
Businesses and communities around Yellowstone will also feel the pinch.
The National Mall and the Statue of Liberty will also have to deal with less operating money.
Nearly 279 million people visit national parks each year.
The opening is expected to be pushed back one to two weeks as the park searches for ways to meet budget cuts.
