Jacksonville Officer D.E. Brannon said the white Escalade was going west on Beaver Street when a tan Ford Focus stopped at the intersection waiting to cross Beaver pulled out in front of the SUV.

Brannon said after the SUV was struck it slid between two trees and ended up in pond.  Several people got in the water to help get the driver and young boy out of the SUV.

One witness didn't hesitate to get in the pond and help free the woman and child.

"The adrenaline kicked in... I cannot explain it, how I got out of the van and did what I did," Eric Sanchez said.

Police said the driver and passengers were taken to hospital as a precautionary measure with no serious injuries.  The woman driving the car was also hospitalized, but without serious injures.
