The Better Business Bureau said it's receiving complaints about various fun runs being canceled with short notice and often without refunds.
In Cleveland, a themed run was canceled with just four days notice. An email was sent to participants, saying race officials could not provide a refund.

A race in southern California was also canceled with the same "no refund" email.
So the bureau has tips in case you're thinking of participating in a fun run.

Also, understand the terms and conditions involved.
Many people don't read the fine print before agreeing to online documents.
And pay with a credit card, where charges can be disputed. Purchases made with a debit card or cash are final.
