The arrest happened after police received a report about an argument within an apartment between Hall and a female victim.

During the argument, Hall displayed a handgun and told the victim he would shoot her, police said. Hall ran from the apartment before officers arrived.

While the argument was being investigated, several 911 calls were received about shots being fired in the area of Washington Street, police said.

Officers met with two people who said Hall had shot at them several times with a handgun as they drove past him in a car near Washington Street, according to Palatka police.

As police searched the area for Hall, residents called and reported he was sitting in a blue Chevy SUV in the 1600 block of Washington Street, police said.

Authorities found and surrounded the SUV in the 1600 block of Washington Street. Police said Hall was taken into custody without incident.

A concerned citizen who wished to remain anonymous saw Hall hide a handgun near a set of mailboxes before he was taken into custody. Police said the citizen told dispatch the location of the weapon, where officers later found it.

"This incident is a great example of citizens and officers working together and keeping our community safe," Capt. Matt Newcomb said.
