Armed robber sentenced to life in prison

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – After a brutal robbery and carjacking, 21-year-old Joshua Jermaine Clark will spend the rest of his life in prison with a mandatory minimum of 20 years before being eligible for parole.

Clark was arrested after he confronted a victim at night in the driveway of a home in the Heather Grove Lane neighborhood.

Clark shoved the victim to the ground and held him at gunpoint while he stole his credit cards and driver's license. Clark then jumped in the victim's vehicle and took off.

Jacksonville Sheriff's officers found Clark driving the stolen vehicle and tried to pull Clark over but he took off and led police on a high-speed chase until Clark lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a building on North Arlington Road.

Clark was convicted of armed robbery, carjacking with a firearm, aggravated fleeing or attempting to elude a law enforcement officer and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
