Armed robber who stole cigarettes sought

JSO: Robber displays knife, forces clerk to give money from register

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – An armed man who forced a clerk to give him money is currently being sought by the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

Police responded at 8:20 a.m. Sunday to Kangaroo at 4856 Park Ave. in reference to an armed robbery.

JSO said the man entered the store earlier in the day and asked to use the restroom, did so and left the store.

Once all of the customers left, the man came back into the store. JSO said the man displayed a knife, forced the clerk behind the counter and demanded money from the register. The clerk handed the man a pack of cigarettes and he left the store.

JSO described the robber as a white man who is 35-40 years old, 5 feet 7 inches to 5 feet 8 inches tall, unshaven and has short brown hair. Police said he wore a black and white hoodie, and his left eye was black with a scab over the eyebrow.

Anyone who has any information about the man or his whereabouts is asked to call JSO at 904-630-0500. Police said to remain anonymous and receive a possible reward up to $3,000 for this case, call Crime Stoppers at 866-845-TIPS.
