As mother of 23-year-old grieves, FHP investigates

PALM COAST, Fla. – The Florida Highway Patrol believes three young people had been drinking Sunday night before the Toyota Solara they were in left a dirt road in western Flagler County, struck some trees and landed upside down in a ditch.

Brianna Bellon, 23, died in the crash.  Two 23-year-old men they were with walked to the nearest house to call police.  Investigators still don't know for sure which person was driving the car northbound on County Road 2007 near County Road 110 about 10:30 p.m. when the occurred.

"It's like the worst thing you can imagine," said Bellon's mom, Roberta.

Her family says Bellon was the life of the party -- an energetic, kind spirit who loved the outdoors.

"She's going to be missed a lot," said Belton's aunt, Nicki Bruno. "She would just light up a room when she would come in. I don't know anybody who didn't love her."

Friends say the two men in the car -- Zackariah Holden and Corey Doyle-Carlson -- were knocked out in the crash. When they woke up and

Zackary Holden and Corey Doyle-Carlson

couldn't find Bellon, they went to get help.

According to the FHP report, no one in the vehicle was wearing seat belts. Troopers say charges are pending the outcome of the investigation.
