Award winning artist plays concert to help local high school

Funds from James Rogers concert will help Englewood High School athletics

JACKSONVILLE, FLORIDA – He's a voice straight out of Dollywood, a show that has been voted best show in the Smokey Mountains for five years in a row.

Award winning singer and songwriter James Rogers will perform Saturday night at Englewood High School.

"I've had a great fan base at Englewood High School for years, and it's always been a tradition of mine to come and play. All the funds from the concert will go towards the schools athletic fund" said James Rogers.

Rogers like to sing country, rock and roll, gospel and patriotic songs.

"But out of all the genres, I think my favorite kind of music to play is soft pop. I play several different kinds of instruments. I like to do my shows with the audience and not at the audience" said Rogers.

Rogers performed side-by-side with Dolly Parton at the Music Mansion Theater for years. He's also been headlining performers for Chattanooga, Tennesee's Riverbend Festival. Tonight he'll play a special show for Jacksonville.

"It's exciting to be here in Jacksonville. I've traveled all over the world from Sudbury, Ontario to Connecticut to California and even Europe, but there is something special about playing here in The River City" said Rogers.

Rogers will perform in the Englewood High School Auditorium at 7:30 pm. Tickets are $15.00. Children 12 and under are free with an adult.
