As gas prices drop, some cities around the country are already seeing prices below $2 a gallon for regular fuel.
Gasbuddy.com reports prices below $2 a gallon could become the nationwide average. The national average of gas is currently at $2.04. The price for regular fuel a year ago was $3.28.

Gasbuddy.com reports, right now the state with the lowest average gas price is Missouri. Consumers are seeing prices as low as $1.75. The lowest gas prices in the country are in the Texas city, Lubbock. The average price there is $1.70.
Hawaii has the highest average gas price of $3.30. Hawaii is the only state to have an average gas price of more than $3.
Florida's average gas price is set at $2.10 for regular fuel. The lowest price for gas can be found at Mobil, located at E FL-64 and 48th St. Court, for $1.73.
