According to the Florida Highway Patrol, 41-year-old Robert Beasley of Jacksonville was driving the big rig westbound on I-10 and failed to slow enough to negotiate the curve while exiting to Interstate 295 southbound.

Beasley lost control of the vehicle, which rolled onto its right side, spilling pieces of wood across the roadway.

The cargo covered the entire ramp to I-295 southbound and spilled over the side of the overpass onto I-10. Several vehicles on I-10 hit the pieces of wood in the roadway.

All westbound lanes on I-10 were blocked for a short time but eventually cleared. The roadway was partially blocked for about 4.5 hours, FHP said.

No serious injuries were reported in the crash.
