JACKSONVILLE - Join the Riverside Arts Market Ride which is a community bicycle through urban Jacksonville every Saturday morning starting at 9am from the Northeast corner of the Market (by the Bike Valet).
"We always welcome our cyclists but this weekend is going to be very special as we celebrate Bike month in May," said Krysten Bennett who is the director of the Riverside Arts Market.
Today, cyclists can take an Historic Riverside-Avondale Bike Tour with e2ride Bike Tours. The 3 hour tour will leave the arts market at 2pm and it is free for those with their own bike and helmet.
"Be sure to bring plenty of water and snacks for the 10 mile ride. Also, please bring your child's helmet for a free inspection and correct fitting and they will receive a prize," said Bennett.
Free helmets will be available while supplies last for children 14 and under whose own helmet may be too small.
Jax recycle will be accepting donations of new helmets and used bicycles. Parts and locks that are refurbished will be given to The Sulzbacher Center for people who need them for transportation to work or school.
"What a great way to give back to those in need," said Bennett.
Riders are also encouraged to bring used bicycle parts to ‘swap' for upgrades through a Cycle Swap Meet hosted by Jaxrecycle and local bike shops.
"As always, be sure to patronize our FREE Bike Valet, available weekly at the northeast corner of the Market," said Bennett.
