Suspicious device reported at Hemming Park

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jacksonville Sheriffs Office received a call late Thursday about a suspected bomb in Hemming Plaza.

Police found a suspicious package in Hemming Plaza at West Monroe Street in downtown Jacksonville, and evacuated the area.

The JSO bomb squad responded and determined the package was not an explosive device.

Once the bomb squad determined the package was safe, the evacuation was lifted.
