Body, chemicals found in driveway of Westside home

A body was found in a vehicle with bottles of unknown substances around it on the city's Westside Saturday, prompting authorities to call a hazmat team

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A man was found dead inside a vehicle with bottles that contained hydrochloric acid around it, prompting authorizes to call in a hazmat team and the bomb squad Saturday on the city's Westside, officials said. 

The body was found dead of suicide in a car parked in front of a house on Timuquana Road near Capri Road, with a sign that read, " Hazmat team needed," the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said.

Officials with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection confirmed that the substance in the bottles was hydrochloric acid. 

The Jacksonville Fire Rescued Department said that no evacuation was needed and instructed neighbors to stay inside their homes. 

Homicide detectives were also called to the scene.
