Boy, 1, seriously injured in Columbia County crash

FHP: 2 toddlers not properly restrained in vehicle

COLUMBIA COUNTY, Fla. – A 1-year-old boy was seriously injured Wednesday morning in a crash on County Road 252 in Columbia County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

FHP said 25-year-old Emily Wilson of Live Oak was driving east on CR 252 about 11 a.m. Wednesday and turned into the path of a vehicle driven by Arthur Mandy Jr., 22, of Lake City.

Wilson was attempting to turn onto SW Birley Avenue, and the front of Mandy's vehicle hit the front of Wilson's vehicle, sending both cars spinning.

Wilson's two 1-year-old boys, Easton and Ethan, were in the vehicle and were not properly restrained, the FHP said. Easton suffered serious injuries, and Ethan and Emily Wilson, , who was also not wearing a seatbelt, suffered minor injuries. Mandy also suffered minor injuries. All four were transported to Shands at Lake Shore.
