LAWTEY, Fla. -

An 8-year-old boy suffered serious injuries when the four-wheeler he was riding overturned Friday morning, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

State troopers said Reece Barber was riding on private property near Northwest 38th Avenue and Northwest 233 Street in Lawtey about 8:15 a.m.

They said as he tried to turn right, the four-wheeler overturned and rolled over him, injuring his upper body.

Barber was taken to Shands at the University of Florida.

Troopers said Barber was not wearing a helmet. They said no charges will be filed.
