GLYNN COUNTY, Ga. – A 66-year-old Brunswick man died of a gunshot wound Monday evening after target practice with his friend, according to police.
Glynn County police responded to a call at 5:56 p.m. of an accidental shooting on Camp Road off Pennick Road in Brunswick.
Gary Drury, 65, of Brunswick, reported he and his friend, William Joseph Crooms, went to 44 Camp Road for target practice.

Drury told police he began to shoot his Remington 270 rifle at a target on property where people hunt but was unaware Crooms had walked into the woods behind the area of the target.
When Drury could not locate Crooms, he began to search for him on the property and located him in an area some distance behind the target in the woods, according to police.
Crooms died at the scene from a single gunshot wound, according to police. An autopsy will be conducted at the GBI Crime Lab in Savannah on Tuesday.
A resident in the area says she hears gunfire coming from the woods all the time, but she never thinks much of it.
"You know, accidents do happen," said Margie Dawson, who lives near where the shooting happened. "We hadn't heard anything until this morning. Yesterday, the ambulance went down there, fire truck went down there, the police went down there."
No charges have been filed against Drury at this time, according to police.
