Business teams with school for prom clothing drive

Bridge of Northeast Florida, Oceanside Cleaners collecting gowns, menswear

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – It is prom season and we all know that paying for dresses, suits and everything else that comes along with the prom can be expensive. One local business is teaming up with the Bridge of Northeast Florida to make it more affordable for hundreds of students there.

The annual Bridge prom will be held on April 25th at The Bridge of Northeast Florida's main campus in Springfield.

Oceanside Cleaners is collecting gently worn prom attire to be cleaned, pressed and delivered to The Bridge free of charge.

You can drop off clothing at 3742 Southside Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32216 and 298 Solano Rd., Ponte Vedra Beach, FL 32082.

Anyone who donates prom attire in April will receive 20 percent off their dry cleaning order at Oceanside Cleaners.

The donated prom attire will be distributed to the youth served by The Bridge who need a little help dressing for the occasion. Organizers are collecting gowns, dress shirts, ties and dress slacks.

This year's prom theme is Mardi Gras. There will be food and entertainment, and the Bridge is expecting to host more than 200 teens in grades 7th through 12th.
