Cadillac hits Duval County school bus, flees

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Florida Highway Patrol is looking for a silver Cadillac DeVille that struck a Duval County school bus Monday afternoon on University Boulevard, then drove away.

It happened about 5:30 p.m. and no students were on the bus at the time.  The bus driver was not injured.

According to the FHP report, the car was facing east in the median of University at the intersection with Playa Way and accelerated as the northbound  bus approached.  After colliding with the left side of the bus, the Cadillac turned east on Harris Avenue and fled, according to troopers.

Witnesses described the driver of the car as an elderly white man.
