JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Jacksonville police say they found a 2003 blue Toyota Corolla early Sunday that they believe belongs to 27-year-old Rosemary Day, who's been missing since May.
Day relied on medicine, and detectives say she didn?t have her medication with her when she disappeared.
Day?s family says they've been in agony for the past two months, desperately wanting to know where the 27-year-old has been. She was last seen on May 21 at her Westside apartment.
On May 30, the woman who was described as sweet, friendly and quiet was reported missing, along with her car, a 2003 blue Toyota Corolla.
Members of the community helped spread the word of her disappearance, hoping to bring her home safely, but police didn?t have much information about her whereabouts until Sunday morning.
Police said they went to the 900 block of North Liberty Street downtown on Saturday night because someone called them. The caller was concerned because a car had been parked there for a very long time, police said. In fact, the car even had cobwebs, police said.
Police later on found out that the vehicle was likely Day's.
Detectives said that while they saw no sign of the woman, they did find several clues in Day?s abandoned car. The specific details aren?t being released yet because police are still actively investigating the case.
Police are currently asking the community for any information it can provide and if residents happened to have seen Day or her vehicle in the past two months.
If you have any information on Day's whereabouts, call Crime Stoppers at 866-845-TIPS.
