It's the first, one-of-a kind, charity road rally benefiting the Jacksonville Police Athletic League.

The cars came up from Orlando.

Friday night there will be a fundraiser and raffle to potentially win a ride in a private jet to the mountains of North Carolina and the opportunity to ride in one of the exotic vehicles around Jacksonville's Interstate 295 beltway.

The road rally kicks off Saturday morning.

Sheriff Mike Williams publicly thanked sponsors and drivers Wednesday, as they rode into town and talked about what it means to the PAL and the city's youth.

"We are focusing on long-term solutions for fighting crime in this community. PAL is an example of that," Williams said. "PAL touches young boys and girls lives earlier on. We keep them off of that street corner. They never meet a drug dealer. They never meet a gang member, because they're at PAL."

Williams said drivers will travel around the beltway and parts of streets will be blocked as they go, but no one will be inconvenienced.

Williams said every dollar raised will go directly to the local Police Athletic League.
