City pays for New Year's Eve cab service
Tybee Island police want people to stay safe
A coastal Georgia city is planning to pick up the tab for taxis on New Year's Eve.
WJCL-TV reports that Tybee Island police are asking revelers to call the department's non-emergency line if they're intoxicated and need a cab to get home.
Officer Marella Eaton says this will be the first year the city picks up the tab for New Year's cab service.
Eaton says the department is looking to help area residents safely celebrate the holiday.
