City sues company over Landings dispute

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A long-running dispute between the city of Jacksonville and the owners of The Landing has landed in court.

In 2007, the city sold a parking lot to Jacksonville Landing Investments for $4.3 million.

A year ago, JLI informed the city it wanted its money back and was voiding the land deal.

The city has now sued JLI, saying it never recorded the deed, has not paid any property taxes on the lot and has no legal right to terminate the purchase agreement.
