Clay Co. hosts 'Operation Green Light'

CLAY COUNTY, Fla. – For Clay County residents who may have unpaid traffic tickets, court fines and fees, April 18 is your lucky day.

The Clay County Clerk of Courts is hosting "Operation Green Light," where anyone who may have to pay fines or fees or reinstate their license can come into two clerk of courts locations and avoid having to pay their usual 40 percent collection surcharge.

The event takes place from 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. at the Clay County Courthouse at 825 N. Orange Ave. in Green Cove Springs or at the Orange Park branch at 1478 Park Ave. in Orange Park.

After a very successful event in 2014, Clay County Clerk Tara Green hopes 2015's one day event will be just as lucrative.

Residents who want to take advantage of the event can pay with cash, personal or cashier's checks, money orders or major credit cards, though those who use credit cards will be charged a 3.5 percent convenience fee.
