Clerk pistol-whipped in gas station robbery, police say

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A clerk at a Shell gas station in Northwest Jacksonville was pistol-whipped Friday morning in a robbery, police said.

The robbery was reported about 8 a.m. at Dunn Avenue and Lem Turner Road.

The robber, who is described as a black man between 25 and 30 years old and wearing a hoodie, hit the clerk in the head with a gun and stole $160 from the till, along with the clerk's watch and wedding band, police said.

Police looked over surveillance video and are out looking for the robber.
