Crewmembers aboard the Coast Guard Cutter Maria Bray received a new commanding officer during a change of command ceremony held at the Coast Guard Station at Mayport on Friday.
Chief Warrant Officer Michael Lemay relieved Chief Warrant Officer Christopher M. Cartwright of command of the Maria Bray, a 175-foot keeper-class coastal buoy tender.
Capt. Tom Allan, commander of Coast Guard Sector Jacksonville, presided over the ceremony.
Crewmembers aboard Coast Guard buoy tenders conduct maintenance and repair to the various aids to navigation along the coasts, rivers and other navigable waterways throughout the nation. Such aids include buoys, day markers, channel markers and various other aids.
The Cutter Maria Bray is stationed at Coast Guard Sector Jacksonville.
