MAYPORT, Fla. – An 11-year-old was medevaced Thursday night after she suffered a head injury from a fall aboard a cruise ship, 10 miles east of Mayport.
The Coast Guard received a report at around 8 p.m. from the Carnival cruise ship Fascination stating that the young girl had suffered head trauma and had briefly lost consciousness.
A boat crew riding a 45-foot response boat was deployed and the crew took the little girl and her mother to Station Mayport where local EMS was standing by.
Authorities reported that the girl was in stable condition.
