Cookies recalled at Winn-Dixie, Harveys stores

Oatmeal raisin cookies contain walnuts, which aren't on the label

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Southeastern Grocers announced an immediate recall Monday for various Bakery Oatmeal Raisin Cookie products sold at Winn-Dixie and Harveys stores in Florida and Georgia.

The product contains walnuts, an allergen, but that was not listed on the label.

Consumers who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to walnuts are urged not to eat the cookies and return them to the store for a full refund.

To receive the refund, customers may present proof of purchase through a receipt or the product packaging label.

The recall includes:

  • 12-count Bakery Oatmeal Raisin Cookies and Bakery Variety Pack Cookies
  • 18-count Bakery Oatmeal Raisin Cookies and Bakery Variety Pack Cookies
  • 20-count Bakery Oatmeal Raisin Cookies and Bakery Variety Pack Cookies
  • 36-count Bakery Cookie Platters
  • 48-count Bakery Cookie Platters

The products have a sell-by date of Oct. 28, 2015 through Nov. 11, 2015.

The stores are removing the cookies from all Harvey stores in Florida, Georgia and South Carolina. They're removing the cookies from Winn-Dixie stores in the following counties: Alachua, Baker, Bradford, Camden, Citrus, Clay, Columbia, Duval, Glynn, Jefferson, Levy, Leon, Lowndes, Madison, Marion, Nassau, Putnam, St. Johns, Sumter, Suwannee, Taylor and Wakulla.

The recall does not affect Winn-Dixie stores in Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi or any BI-LO stores.

Harveys and Winn-Dixie stores have not received any reports of illnesses associated with these cookies.
