Motorcyclist killed in Buckman Bridge crash

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A 54-year-old motorcyclist died Friday afternoon after striking the vehicle in front of him in slowing traffic on the Buckman Bridge, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Troopers said Keith Tucker, of Jacksonville, was riding northbound on the bridge when the Dodge Avenger in front of him slowed. Tucker was unable to stop, his motorcycle struck the rear of the car and Tucker was ejected.

Tucker died at the scene, according to the FHP report. The driver of the car was not injured.

Two lanes of I-295 were closed for part of the afternoon rush hour while the accident was investigated.
