JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A man was hit by a pickup truck Friday evening while running across San Jose Boulevard near Claire Lane, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.
Officers received a call about the crash around 6:30 p.m. The man was taken to a hospital with critical injuries. His name was not released Friday night.
"Preliminary investigation reveals the driver was not at fault," said Lt. Ron Norse, with JSO.
Police said it appears the man was running from the Walmart area and did not cross at an intersection.
All northbound lanes of San Jose Boulevard were closed for about two hours while police investigated.
Police said they couldn't comment on whether charges would be filed against the driver.
