ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. -

Florida Power & Light worked to restore power to more than 200 homes in St. Augustine after a car crashed into a power pole Tuesday morning.

St. Johns County Fire Rescue crews responded to a crash along SR-16 just east of I-95 around 12:45 a.m. Tuesday.

When crews arrived, they saw the car had crashed into a power pole and the power line was down, blocking the westbound lanes of SR-16 near I-95.

The driver of the car was transported to the hospital for evaluation, but SJCFR crews say the injuries were minor.

St. Johns County Sheriff's deputies closed all westbound lanes of SR-16 just east of I-95 for FPL crews to repair the down power line.

More than 200 homes were affected and were without power.
