Fire breaks out in Oceanway guest house

No injuries in fire behind home on Davis Road

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Fire broke out in a guest house behind a home in Oceanway Saturday morning, the Jacksonville Fire Rescue Department said.

Fire crews said the fire broke out in the guest house just before 7:30 a.m. behind a home on Davis Road.

Multiple fire crews arrived and were able to contain the fire in around 10 minutes, fire officials said.

No injuries were reported. The woman who lives in the home was on vacation and her dog was boarded when the fire broke out.

The fire marshal was called in to investigate the fire.

The home suffered fire and smoke damage but was not destroyed.
