In July of last year, Morris approached a taxi, pulled out a gun, pointed it at one of the victims and demanded money. The victim gave up his wallet and ran away in search of help, officials said.

Morris then ordered the remaining victims to get on the ground. The gun was pointed in their direction, officials said. Next, Morris sped off in the taxi.

Morris was sentenced Friday as a prison release reoffender to life in prison.
