Cross-dressing Arby's robber sought

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Police in Jacksonville are trying to identify a cross-dresser who robbed an Arby's restaurant on the Southside on Thursday night.

Investigators said the man went into the restaurant in the 10100 block of Philips Highway about 9:40 p.m., went into the bathroom, left the bathroom and approached the front counter.

The robber removed a dark gun from a red purse he was carrying, police said. They said he demanded money, jumped across the front counter and placed the money into his purse.

The man was last seen getting into a dark sedan.

The robber was described by witnesses as a cross-dresser, black man, 6 feet 2 inches tall and 160 pounds. He had a thin mustache and was wearing red lipstick and a wig with long, straight black hair. He was wearing a white long-sleeve blouse and blue jeans, carrying a red purse.
