A Saturday morning accident at a busy St. Johns County intersection claimed the life of one woman.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, 24-year-old Samantha Silvers, of St. Augustine, died after the crash on State Road 16 and Four Mile Road.

Silvers was on Four Mile Road and when the light changed, she attempted to turn left onto State Road 16  when Pierle's pickup struck the driver's side of Silvers' Mazda, according to the FHP report.

Silvers was transported to UF Health at Jacksonville, where she died.  Troopers say Pierle had minor injuries but did not require hospitalization.
