Deputies responded to a disturbance at American Inn on State Road 16 at 9:45 p.m. Tuesday. Miller, who was the victim of the disturbance, declined to prosecute, deputies said.

A computer check revealed that Miller was a designated sexual predator with an address listed as transient in Duval County, deputies said.

A deputy also discovered that Miller had been living at the motel since the middle of September and had not registered his address in St. Johns County. He has also been employed at Hilton St. Augustine Historic Bayfront as a housekeeper, deputies said.
