Deputies investigating 2 ‘smash and grab' burglaries

2 Yulee gas stations burglarized

YULEE, Fla. – Deputies with the Nassau County Sheriff's Office are on the hunt Monday for suspects in two "smash and grab" robberies in Yulee.

On Monday, an unknown suspect went to the BP gas station on State Road 200 near I-95, smashed the glass on the store's front window and loaded up a garbage can full of cigarettes and took off.

Deputies said the suspect was wearing gloves and a mask to hide his identity, but detectives do have grainy surveillance video of the burglary.

On Feb. 9, detectives say the Sunoco gas station on State Road 200 in Yulee was also burglarized in the same way.

Both cases are being investigated by the Criminal Investigations Division of the Nassau County Sheriff's Office who is asking anyone with information to call NCSO at 904-225-0331.

People with information can also call First Coast Crime Stoppers at 1-866-845-TIPS where information leading to an arrest is eligible for a reward of up to $3,000.
