Deputies: Robbers steal TVs from furniture store

CALLAHAN, Fla. – The Nassau County Sheriff's Office is seeking help identifying two people who stole four televisions from a furniture store in Callahan last month.

According to deputies, surveillance video shows that about 3:30 a.m. Jan. 30, an older model Dodge Durango with aftermarket rims pulled into the parking lot of the Badcock Home Furniture store at 542057 U.S. 1 in Callahan. The vehicle can be seen backing into a parking spot closest to the business and out of view of the camera.

Deputies said a white man wearing a mask is seen walking to the front door of the store and pointing to where the electronics section is inside the store, before walking back out of camera view.

Inside surveillance video then shows a window in the front of the store being shattered and two people wearing masks entering the store and heading straight toward the electronics section. The robbers then made two trips back and forth with televisions, taking four.

Deputies said a 65" Toshiba, 48" Westinghouse, 58" Toshiba and 58" Phillips television were stolen. All of the TV remotes were left at the scene.

Deputies said their investigation revealed several other furniture/rental stores were burglarized in the same manner in Duval County and Camden County, Georgia. They said there is reason to believe the same people with the same vehicle committed those crimes.

Anyone with information on the case or a similar case is asked to contact Detective Livingston at 904-548-4052.
